Easily downloads list of prices for given dates and list of tickers. There are many reasons for wanting to gather share prices. This application was originally written to allow large quantities of closing prices to be gathered for a basket of shares to allow comparisons of volatility to be calculated. This is increasingly important where companies give employees share options as the value placed on the options in the accounts is influenced by expected share price volatility. I use the program for statistical analysis of share prices to allow me to buy and sell them at a profit. The program is an Excel 2002 macro that takes price information as quoted on the internet and transfers it to spreadsheet files. You can download a free (limited) version of the software. If you are worried about opening a downloaded spreadsheet with macros enabled you can cut and paste the macro into your own module. You could also hack the macro and get it to do what the full version does, but if you are happy to do that you might as well have written it from scratch! By paying for the full version you will be put on the database so that you will automaticallyany be informed of any improvements or alterations required if the web pages providing the share prices change.
